Parents/Legal Guardians,
We've updated our attendance policies and procedures to better reflect Nevada law.
NRS 392.130 states "...the parent or legal guardian or other person having control or charge of the pupil shall notify the..." the office, "...of the school orally or in writing... within 3 days after the pupil returns to school."
Notifications for an absence must include the absence reason. Upon notification, school administrators determine approval based on NRS 392-130.
The NRS continues to clarify that the school must mark any absence as truant if a reason is not provided within three days of the student's return to school and then refer the truancy to the Juvenile Probation's truancy officer.
