Parents & Guardians,

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. I am writing to inform you about a medical response that occurred on our campus this morning in case you saw the ambulance lights at Pathways.

A PVHS student experienced a medical emergency near the Pathways building. Students and staff responded quickly, and emergency medical services were called to the scene. The student’s family has been notified.

To ensure the privacy of the student and to allow emergency responders clear access, we initiated a brief "Stay-Put" protocol at the Pathways building. A Stay-Put is a precautionary measure where students and staff in a specific area remain in their classrooms to keep hallways clear.

This Stay-Put has been lifted, and the situation is resolved. The student is in the care of medical professionals.

We are very proud of our students who quickly reported the incident, allowing our team to respond immediately. Please be assured that all other students are safe, and the school day is proceeding as normal.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Dear Rosemary Clarke Middle School Families,

The safety and security of our students is our highest priority. I am writing to inform you of a situation that we addressed at school today and to assure you that all students are safe.

This morning, we received a report of a possible weapon on campus. We took this report very seriously and, in partnership with our School Resource Officer, immediately launched an investigation. A thorough search was conducted, and I can confirm that no weapon was found.

The situation has been fully resolved. We are addressing the matter with the student or students involved, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with district policy and the law.

This incident is a valuable reminder of the importance of "see something, say something." We are grateful to the individuals who came forward with their concerns. It is this sense of shared responsibility that helps keep our school community safe.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.

Sincerely,
Zach Butt

Thank you staff!

Parents & Guardians,

The purpose of this note is to inform you of a safety incident that occurred at Rosemary Clarke Middle School and to assure you that the situation was resolved quickly and without harm to any students or staff.

Earlier today, it was reported that a student was in possession of an air-soft gun in a backpack, not a firearm. The student showed the item to other students, who immediately reported it to school staff. School administration acted swiftly to detain the student and, upon investigation, discovered the air-soft gun. The matter has been turned over to the Nye County Sheriff's Office.

To be clear: The student involved will face the strictest disciplinary consequences in accordance with the law and district policy.

The safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority. We are incredibly proud of the students who came forward. Their courage and sense of responsibility are what keep our schools safe. This incident serves as a critical reminder of the importance of our "see something, say something" policy. We urge you to continue to have conversations with your children about the importance of reporting any and all safety concerns to a trusted adult.

We understand that news of this nature can be unsettling. We want to reassure you that we are taking this incident very seriously and are committed to maintaining a secure learning environment for all.

Sincerely,
April Sutton
RCMS Principal
