The STAY-PUT emergency procedure at PVHS has been lifted.
The procedure was implemented because of a situation in the parking lot that required NCSO assistance. PVHS wanted to keep students from the area until the situation was contained.
PVHS has implemented a STAY PUT emergency procedure. During practice drills, your student learned this means any outside activities are moved inside and no students or staff are allowed outside the building. All exterior doors are locked. No one is allowed to enter the building except for response personnel. Classroom instruction continues with limited hallway traffic. Please monitor the Nye County School District Website or Facebook page for additional information as it becomes available.
Tonight's Special Board of Trustees Meeting begins at 6:30. Please note the non-standard time.

Don't fall prey to scholarship scams
A scholarship is a great way for your teen to fund higher education. But sometimes a scholarship can look like a better deal than it is. Don't trust any offer that asks you to pay a "small amount" to hold the scholarship. Real scholarships are free. Be cautious if an offer says your teen doesn't have to do a thing. Most scholarships require an application at least. Never give your credit card or bank account number in response to an offer. To be safe, check out any offers with your teen's school counselor.
